Abstract

This study was carried out to determine the esterase variation between egg parasitoid, Trichogramma populations. Recently, electrophoresis is one
of the techniques used to measure the enzymatic variations among populations. Enzymatic analyses, especially esterase contribute the identifi cation of
Trichogramma species. In the study, nine Trichogramma populations were collected from different locations, reared in laboratory and defi ned their esterase
isozymes by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE). Twenty adults were homogenized for esterase zymograms and exposed to the -20 ºC. Fast Blue
RR and α-Naphtyl acetate as a substrat were used for monitoring esterase bands. Two different isozymes in populations (slow: EST1 and fast: EST2) were
determined after activity dying. Populations were separated in three groups according to their esterase bands.
