Abstract

Fertilizer is an important substance added to the soil to provide chemical elements required for plant nutrition and growth. İt is also one of
the most important input in agricultural production. organic fertilizers are renewable because of they are produced from plant and animal waste
or powered minarels. While organic fertilizers improve soil sutructure water and nutrient retention capacity at the same time make plant healthy
and strong as they dissolve. Chemical fertilizers ; inorganic , synthetic, artifical or may be reffered to as treated. These type of fertilizers are
obtained by decomposition and mixing of nutrients with different chemicals in certain rates. These products can be obtained from petroleum
products, rocks and even organic sources. It helps the growth of plants but ıt has no contribution to soil improvement. Also, nutritions have high
dose risk of their dissolved from. This is not only killed only plants, but also affects the whole of ecosystem in a negative way. İn this study, to
compare effect of these two fertilizer upon soil and development of tomato plants, treacle based organic (N % 7: P % 7: K % 7) and synthetic
(N %10: P %8: K %5) fertilizer were applied three times in 3 week intervals. Applications were made to each flowerpot as 200 cc/da in 500
ml of water. The experimantal was established by randomized plot trial design as 5 replicationsand the plant were grown under greenhouse
conditions. The effects of fertilizer applications upon tomato plant growth, fruit yield and quality characteristic will be discussed.
