Cu (II) ve Co (II) İyonlarının Spirulina Platensis (Cyanophyceae) ile Biyosorpsiyon Özelliklerinin İncelenmesi

Özet

In this study Spirulina platensis Geitler was used for the removal of Cu (II) and Co (II) from the aqueous solution. Additionally, the effects
of pH, contact time and metal ion concentration to biosorption capacity were determined. It was found that the optimum pH which affected the
biosorption capacity was 6 and the system reached equilibrium in 30 min of contact time. When Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm models were
applied, the analysis showed that the adsorption pattern of the selected metals varied (physical-chemical). It was also found that the % adsorption
values changed with the increase in the concentration of mixed metal solutions. According to the desorption experiments it was observed that the
best desorption for Cu (II) was 94.89% with 0.1 M HCl while Co (II) was not fully reversible. For the characterization of the adsorbent used FTIR
analysis were conducted and it was predicted that Cu (II) and Co (II) ions were bound to –NH, –OH, and C-O groups. As a result, it was determined
that the removal of Co (II) was more efficient than the removal of Cu (II) when S. platensis was used as biosorbent.
