Actinomyces Türlerinin Biyolojik Özellikleri

Özet

Actinomyces species are the inhabitants of mucosal surfaces of human and homoiothermic animals. However, they can cause oppurtunistic infections
because of tissue disruption of these surfaces caused by any reason. Since it is diffucult to detect these organisms by microscopy and to culture, the infections
caused by them are misdiagnosed or undiagnosed. Thus, it is important to know the biological features of Actinomyces spp. in view of differentiating them
from other similar microorganisms and of correct diagnosis and treatment. In this review, the biological features of Actinomyces species are discussed in
detail in the light of literature.
