Özet

Genus Ankyropetalum is represented with three species as A. arsusianum Kotschy ex Boiss., A. reuteri Boiss. & Hausskn. and A. gypsophiloides
Fenzl in Türkiye. Members of this genus distribute mainly in South-Eastern Anatolia and partially in Mediterranean region. Regarding to
phytogeography, it spreads at the concurrence areas of Iran-Turan and Mediterranean Regions. Related taxa of it generally distribute in steppe
vegetation on vulcanic and conglomerate rocks and hillsides afflicted with erosion. It’s proved that, A. arsusianum which was recorded “as known
endemic and by type collecting (Hatay)” in the monument named “Flora of Turkey”. By our observations it has xerophytic and casmophytic features
and a rarely deployed nonendemic species in Türkiye and whole World. It distributes in Türkiye(Osmaniye and Hatay) and regions of Syria which
close to Türkiye. It’s thought that could grow in regions of Adana close to Osmaniye. It’s very sensitive to altitude, direction and habitat. It grows at
the areas where the main rock rice to the surface and soil layer absents. It continues to grow using moisture on the south side of hillside. A. reuteri
which is a specific endemic species for Türkiye is an unusual kind that could form stronger root systems in areas where the soil layer is absent or
little. It distributes in Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye and Adıyaman (in a small area of Adıyaman side to Malatya). It’s known from type collecting
and as endemic to Antitaurus by “Flora of Turkey” A. gypsophiloides spreads in Siirt, Batman, Mardin and Şanlıurfa vilayets, and on vulcanic,
conglomerate areas where limestone is partially available. It grows in sides of field and river; south hillsides where could expose to sun light
sufficently. Because the A. gypsophiloides is valuable economically, its underground part is used as commercially since 1800s. Nevertheless, it’s
geographic disturbance and reserves is higher. It can be concluded that A. gypsophiloides has better tolerance than other species of genus regarding
to ecologic and geographic disturbance. While A. gypsophiloides is seen in Irano-Turanian region, A. reuteri and A. arsusianum take place in the intersection region of Irano-Turanian and Mediterranean regions. Populations of A. reuteri and A. arsusianum disappears when cross to Iran-Turan region from the intersection region of Irano-Turanian and Mediterranean regions. Only four species of genus is recorded in the world and it’s gen center is in the intersection area of Southeastern Anatolia and Mediterranean regions (Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adana, Osmaniye, Adıyaman). The three species spread in Türkiye are
Irano-Turanian elements. They could be used as indicator to determine border line of Irano-Turanian region. Serious ecologic factors which may damage species generation weren’t determined.
