In this study, the localization of endocrine cells in digestive tract of rainbow trout infected intraperitoneally with Salmonella enteritidis were
investigated by immunohistochemistry staining techniques. Endocrine cells (gastrin, substans P, glucagon, insülin and calbindin) were studied by
ABC and PAP methods. The endocrine cells of the fish control and experimental groups examined; insülin and calbindin IR were not found in
the digestive tract. Glucagon IR and gastrin IR were determined in the small intestine and in the pyloric stomach respectively. Substans P IR was
determined in the both stomach and small intestine of control fish, but not found these of the experimental fish. In conclusion, a different finding
was not observed in the localization of endocrine cells between control fish and experimental fish infected with S. enteritidis.
