Ilıman İklim Koşullarında Kudret Narının (Momordica charantia L.) Yetiştirilebilmesi Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Özet

The bitter melon (Momordica charantia L.) is an annual and summer plant. This plant is grown in many countries around the world and are used for treatment of various diseases by the public.The leaves and immature fruits as a vegetable, mature fruits, seeds and preparations prepared from the fleshy parts of the surface of the seed is consumed in order to support medical treatment. The effective ingredients in all parts of the plant has property hypoglycemic,anti-hyperglycemic, triglyceride lowering, antiulcer, antioxidant, antibiotic, hypocholesterolemic, antiinflammatory, antidiabetic,anticancer, antivirus, antibacterial, insecticidal, antimutagenik, immunostimulating, antitumor, antimicrobial, antifertility, and anthelmintic. In our country, as in the past among the people as wound healing were still used for a gastro-intestinal complaints.In this research carried out in Samsun province with mild climate conditions, harvested fruit number per day changed from 5 to 49,harvested fruit weight per day between 689.5 to 5808.5 g, single fruit weight between 68.95 g to 178.25g, during May-October
vegetation period. The research was decided to continue due to the promising results obtained from first year.
