In this study; reproduction biology was investigated of tarek (Chalcalburnus tarichi) which lives in Nazik Lake (Ahlat-BITLIS). The study
was conducted between October 1997 and March 1999 and totally 1944 individuals sampled and fish samples were taken from Nazik Lake by
using cast nets, beach seine small mesh sized dip nets and electro shock. On the sampled specimens’ fork length, body weight, gonad weight, sex,
maturity, egg size and fecundity properties were determined. Opercula bone was taken from the samples for age determination. The investigated
individual age was found between I and X, the individuals in IV age group was predominant (26.3%). FL of the individuals has been found
between 2-20 cm and mainly 14 cm, W varied between 0.1-75.7 g, 30 g was predominant weight group. GSI values were calculated as minimum in
September, as maximum in may-June. It was determined that spawning between the beginning of May-the end of June. IF was calculated minimum
4611, maximum 6214 eggs/per female; RF as 159.14±9.09 eggs/per gram body weight. SF is found as 31.9. Average diameter of egg was found
1.039±0.276 mm IF-W, IF-FL, IF-A relationship was calculated. Sexual maturity was determined as in age III. Females 12.4 cm and 16.8 g, males
12.2 cm and 15.75 g were found in this age.
