Abstract

In this study, chlorophyll a/b ratio and carotenoid concentration in some aquatic (Cinclidotus aquaticus (Hedw.) Bruch & Schimp.,
Platyhypnidium riparioides (Hedw.) Dixon., Dialytrichia mucronata (Brid.) Broth.) and non-aquatic bryophyte species (Neckera crispa Hedw.,
Porella platyphylla (L.) Pfeiff.) were investigated. The highest chlorophyll a/b ratio is non-aquatic bryophyte species. As a result, pigment amounts
in all species were less than vascular plants and bryophytes have characteristics of shade plants that were confirmed by tested.
