Göksu Deltası’nda Tarımsal Kimyasal Kullanımının Delta Halkının Yaşam Kalitesi Üzerine Etkisinin Anket Çalışması İle Araştırılması

Özet

Göksu Delta is a natural wetland, being taken under protection by Ramsar Contract and by the laws of Republic of Turkey. The delta is situated
within the borders of Silifke district, on the west of the province of Mersin. The delta, being comprised of mills that are brought by Göksu River
and high in food ingredient, is a special area in which all types of cultivation can be done. Intensive agricultural activity still continues within
the zone whose borders are not decided quite certainly and within the protection area just across the part, being declared as Private Environment
Protection Area. The economic input of Silifke District is being comprised of agricultural activities. SEKA, that is present in the district, has stopped
the production and has been closed. The area which is belonged to SEKA is declared as a tourism region. Building a big hotel in this area remains
on the agenda. Convenient climatic conditions of Göksu Delta not only ensure the growth of plants, being engaged in agriculture, but also provide
the existence and rapid increase of a number of agricultural pests in this region. In order to protect the product that has a high economic value, the
grower still continues to use condensed agricultural chemical. On the labels of agricultural chemicals, it is explained how to use these chemicals
by giving the minimum damage to the environment and human. However, in the application, with the thought of both enhancing the effect of the
medicine and providing more protection to the product, it is seen that labels are not obeyed. Agricultural chemicals in use give harm to the user, to
the buyer of the product and to the environment besides the target organism.In this study, a questionnaire of 20 questions about the living standards and nutrition habits is applied to 50 men and 50 women at different ages that earn his/her living from agriculture and they are being selected randomly. Received answers are evaluated and the relation of the common diseases in the region, the age and reason of deaths with agricultural chemicals and nutrition habit is attempted to be detected.
