In this study, 245 stomach contents of Tench were examined and they have been caught during period of September 2007-August
2008 from Seyhan Dam Lake. Organisms, obtained after analysing the stomach contents the Tench patterns, were examined using method
of Geometric Index of Importances (GII). Some of the plant food items which are dominant in the stomach contents of Tench are
Gomphonema, Caloneis and Navicula. Animal food items are Cyclops, Leydigia and Hemiptera members. Consequently, 47 food items
(37 organisms were plants and 10 were animals) were found in the stomach contents of the Tench. As a result of Geometric Index of
Importance, Tench is omnivorous.
