Kelkit (Gümüşhane) İlçesinde Doğal Gıda Bitkilerinin Geleneksel Kullanımları

This research was made between 2013 and 2014 to determine natural plants which are used by Kelkit people for food. It was found that
85 taxa of 30 families were used as food in the study area. The five biggest families according to the number of species respectively are as
follows; Rosaceae (15 taxa), Asteraceae (9 taxa), Apiaceae (8 taxa), Lamiaceae (6 taxa), Chenopodiaceae (5 taxa). The most used parts of the
plants in the area respectively are leaves (26%), fruit (22 %) and flowers (14 %). Plants are consumed mostly as eaten raw (37 %) or making
dinner (22 %). Also phytogeographic regions and endemism situations of plants were identified. The distribution of the taxa to
phytogeographyical regions are; Irano-Turanian 10 taxa, Euro-Siberian 8 taxa and the region is unknown or multi-regional 67 taxa. Two taxa
are found to be endemic to Türkiye.
