Akvaryum Bitkilerinden Salvinia natans (L.)’ın Büyüme Özelliklerinin Belirlenmesi

Özet

In freshwater environments, aquatic plants have great importance both economic and ecologic aspects. These plants beside provide oxygen by photosynthesis, and also they take in dissolved minerals in to their bodies so they play important role in water treatment. In freshwater aquariums also they used for decorative purposes. They used as aquarium plants. In this study, growth conditions of Salvinia natans (L.) which were cultured in different nitrate and carbon sources were investigated. In the first experiment, the highest growth rate was determined in group 2 (0,070 g day-1) and the lowest growth rate was obtained from the group 3 (0,04 g day-1). Significant differences were found between the groups (p<0,05). In the second experiment, which investigate the effects of different CO2
concentrations on plant grow, the highest growth rate were determined as 0,062 day -1 in group 3 (4 h and 0,125 L m-1 CO2). The lowest growth rate wa observed as 0,036 day-1 in group 1 (1 h and 0,125 L m-1 CO2 ). Statistically significant differences were determined between the experimental groups (p<0,05). In the third trial, different concentrations of bicarbonate effects on the growth was determined. The highest growth rate was found as 0,09 day-1 in group 3 and the lowest growth rate was calculate as 0,03 day-1 in group 4. There were statistically differences between the groups (p<0,05). In the last experiment, which were added 0,5 g bicarbonate in all groups,different CO2 concentrations effects on the plant growth was investigated. The maximum growth rate was determined as 0,011 day -1 in group 3 (4h and 0,125 L m-1 CO2) and the minimum growth rate was measured as 0,05 day-1 in group 4 (8 h and 0,125 L m-1 CO2). There were statistically differences between the groups (p<0,05).The first study results showed that S. natans prefers NaNO3 as nitrate source. Additionally, it was determined that S. natans use both bicarbonate and CO2 as inorganic carbon sources. Growth rate of this plant was measured as 0,10 daily.
