Özet

Tahtalı Mountain, located within the frontiers of the Beydağları National Park, lies along the Western part of the Antalya Bay. Its main characteristics are its variety of vegetation, endemic plants, wild animals and historical sites. The mountain is basically made of limestone which has karstic structures such as dolines. These karstic features fill with snow in winter and recharge the aquifer.Despite its unsuitable morphology and inadequate and inappropriate snow cover, an area of approximately 600 m2 of Tahtalı Mountain was rented for 29 years by a private tourism company in 2002 in order to build a ski resort with its aerial cableway with upper and lower stations and a route. The aerial cableway has already been in service. The impact of the waste on surface and groundwater after the resort is put into service has been ignored. Nevertheless, Tahtalı Mountain supports two reservoirs: one in its north and one in its south. Kemer, Çamyuva and Tekirova situated in the Teke Peninsula and also in these reservoirs are important dwelling areas. A resort of such growth on the top of the mountain will deteriorate
(1) the morphology and (2) hydrological balance, (3) will contaminate the surface and groundwater, (4) the endemic plants and animals will suffer and (5) the risk of fire will rise. It is possible to contribute to the tourism sector of the region without such massive construction by developing projects about natural sports.
