Abstract

Bodrum Peninsula is one of the important international centers of Turkey in tourism sector. In this article, due to rising population based on
tourism, drinkable and service water problem in peninsula was analyzed as well as the importance of the topic was pointed out. Bodrum
Peninsula drinkable water project includes Bodrum Peninsula in which Bodrum and Bodrum Union of Municipalities with 9 municipalities take
place. In that project, it was aimed to provide 9,72 hm3/year water from Geyik Barrage and Camkoy Underground Water fort the towns
belonging to Bodrum Union of Municipalities in Bodrum Peninsula. The Project was carried out in three phase. In the first phase, distribution line
and drinkable water storages were founded starting from purification facility. In the second phase, purification facility was created. In the last
phase, connecting lines towards purification facilities, Camkoy shafts and Geyik Barrage were established. In that study, untreated water criteria
belonging to Mumcular Barrage, Geyikli Barrage and Camkoy sources were analysed. In addition to that, obtained turbidity, ammonia nitrogen,
calcium, organic items, iron, manganese, total coliforms, biological and chemical oxygen needs, processes removing parameters (aspiration,
coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection) were mentioned.
