In this study, insect material collected by light trap method in Kemalpaşa district, Izmir province, Western Turkey during the years of 2005-
2007 were evaluated. Studies were conducted in four orchards the size of which was about 0,5 hectare for each. One light trap on the ground was
used for each area from the mid June to the mid September. A 20 watt energy saver white day light bulb was used for each trap and traps were
cleared at two weeks’ intervals.A total of 10 853 specimens belonging to 432 taxa were collected in this study and the specimens of Coleoptera (45.96%), Lepidoptera (24.18%) and Homoptera (13.59%) were more abundant than the others.
